Post-Laser Skincare Guide

Laser treatments—whether for pigmentation, dullness, redness, fine lines, or enlarged pores—can effectively improve various skin concerns when properly performed by a qualified physician. However, post-treatment care is equally crucial for maintaining and enhancing results. Are you following the correct post-laser routine?

IPL, Rejuvenation Laser, Picosecond Laser, Diode Laser, Dye Laser, Hair Removal Laser
These are relatively gentle treatments. After treatment, minor redness or slight scabbing may appear on pigmented areas or hair follicles. This process also promotes skin exfoliation. For the first week, focus on hydration and sun protection:

  • Sun Protection: If you go outdoors or are exposed to UV light at home (e.g., halogen lamps), apply SPF 40–50, PA++++ sunscreen after your regular skincare routine. Use approximately a coin-sized amount, and reapply every 3–4 hours.
  • Masks: If using facial masks at night, gently massage after removal before continuing your regular skincare steps.
After one week, you may start incorporating brightening products to prevent pigmentation and accelerate melanin metabolism. For more complex melasma or pigmentation issues, oral brightening supplements can be combined with topical care to enhance results from within.

Pigmentation Lasers, Fractional CO₂ / Ablative Lasers
These treatments target larger areas or deeper skin concerns such as extensive pigmentation, fine lines, enlarged pores, or atrophic scars. Post-treatment recovery involves micro-wounds, so additional care is needed:

  • Apply topical growth factors, natural antibacterial, or repair products to shorten recovery time, reduce redness or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, and improve treatment outcomes.
  • For the first three days, gently cleanse with sterile saline or boiled and cooled water. Avoid friction or rubbing. Protect skin from sunlight using physical barriers (hat, umbrella, mask).
  • After three days, you can resume your normal skincare routine.
